You don't need an account to start. Go to /events/new and build your event first. ShowTix only asks for your email, a one-time code and your payout details at the very end, when you publish. There are no setup or monthly fees.
Two ways to become a host#
1. Build an event first (new to ShowTix)#
Open /events/new without signing in. You'll see No account needed yet · Nothing charged. Then:
Add the event details, location and tickets. The draft saves automatically as you go.
Review your event page in a Desktop or Mobile preview, then click Save & publish.
Confirm your email with the 6-digit code we send you. This creates your account — no password needed.
Add who the event is Presented by and your bank details, then publish.
Your host account, organisation and event are all set up in that one step. The full walkthrough is in Create an event.
2. Turn on hosting from your dashboard (already have an account)#
If you already have a ShowTix account — for example from buying tickets — sign in and look for Run your own events on ShowTix on your dashboard:
Fill in Host / artist name, Business name and ABN — all three are needed.
Click Become a host.
You'll see You're a host now — let's get your first event up. and can create events straight away.
Leaving and coming back to a draft#
When you build an event before signing in, your draft is saved on our servers as you type, and you'll see Saving… then Saved. The draft is remembered in this browser, so returning to /events/new on the same device picks up where you left off.
Drafts are kept for 30 days after your last change. To start over, open the wizard's options menu and choose Clear and restart?.
The draft is linked to the browser you started it in. To finish on another device, copy the full address from your address bar — it includes your draft — and open it there.
What hosts can do#
A new host account is set up for ticketed events. That covers everything in this section: events, tickets, seating, promo codes, guest lists, check-in, refunds, reporting and payouts.
Some accounts also see Engagements, Booking Enquiries, Quotes and Contacts in the sidebar. These tools are for managing private performer engagements (see Engagements overview). They're switched on per account or organisation by the ShowTix team, and there's no setting to turn them on yourself. If you need them, contact support@showtix.com.au.
Before your first paid event goes on sale#
Payout details are required to publish. See Payouts.
Your first paid event is checked by our team, usually within one business day. Free events go live straight away. See Publishing and approval.
Fees come out of the ticket price, never on top. See Fees explained.
