Tickets on ShowTix have two levels: a pool caps how many tickets can sell, and the ticket types inside it set the prices. Manage them from your event → Tickets. When you're creating an event, the Set up tickets step uses the same editor.
Pools and ticket types#
Pool — a block of availability, such as "First Release × 100". Every ticket type in a pool sells from that pool's Quantity.
Ticket type — something a customer can buy, such as "General Admission" or "Concession", with its own price and rules.
For example, give a pool of 200 an "Adult" and a "Concession" ticket type. Together they can sell 200 tickets.
Add a pool#
Click Add pool. A new pool starts as "Release 1" (or the next number) with a quantity of 100. Change the Pool name and Quantity to suit.
To copy a pool and all its ticket types, use Clone pool (incl. ticket types).
Add a ticket type#
Inside a pool, click Add ticket type, then fill in:
Ticket name — for example "General Admission". Up to 100 characters.
You receive and Customer pays — enter either one and the other is calculated from your fee schedule. The Booking fees amount shows beside them.
That's all most events need. You can't continue past the tickets step until a pool has at least one ticket type.
Prices#
Prices are in Australian dollars, including cents (for example 24.50), and include GST.
Customer pays is the full price the customer sees and pays. Nothing is added at checkout.
You receive is what's left after the booking fee. See Fees explained.
A price of $0 makes a free ticket, with no fee.
Price paid tickets above $1.00. The first $1 of every paid ticket is the fixed part of the booking fee, so a ticket at $1 or less leaves you nothing. If you build your event before signing in, the builder won't accept a paid price of $1 or less.
Advanced options#
Click Advanced options on a ticket type to see:
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Description | Shown to customers on the ticket (up to 500 characters) | Empty |
| Price includes GST | Whether GST applies to this ticket type | On if your business details say you're GST-registered |
| Min per order | The fewest of this type one order can include | 1 |
| Max per order | The most of this type one order can include | 20 |
| Show to customers | When the ticket type appears on your event page | Immediately |
| Allow purchase | When customers can actually buy it | Immediately |
Min per order must be less than or equal to Max per order.
On-sale timing#
Show to customers and Allow purchase each offer three choices:
Immediately
At a date & time — pick when it becomes visible (Visible from) or goes on sale (On sale from).
After another type sells out — choose another ticket type in the same pool. This is how you run early-bird, then general releases.
A few rules keep these consistent:
The on-sale time can't be earlier than the show time.
If visibility waits for another type to sell out, purchase waits for the same type.
If you set a visible-from date and leave purchase on Immediately, purchase moves to that same date.
Before a ticket type goes on sale, customers see This ticket will be available on followed by the date.
Hiding a ticket type#
There's no separate "hidden" or password-locked ticket type. To keep a ticket type off your public page, use Show to customers timing. To give tickets to specific people for free, use comps and the guest list. For discounts, use promo codes.
Putting tickets on sale#
New pools and ticket types start as Draft. On your event's Tickets page, click Publish all tickets.
ShowTix checks every pool and ticket type first:
Each ticket type needs a name.
Each standing or general-admission pool needs a quantity above 0.
If anything is missing you'll see Some ticket types need attention before publishing, and the problems are listed against each item. When everything passes: All ticket pools published — tickets are live. Your event itself must also be published and approved — see Publishing and approval.
Once a pool is live or has sales, it shows a sold · remaining progress bar.
Changing or removing tickets#
Reorder ticket types with Move up and Move down.
Delete ticket type stops it being sold. Tickets already sold are unaffected.
Delete pool removes the pool and its ticket types from sale. Sold tickets are unaffected.
Seated tickets#
If your event has a seating plan, each zone on the plan becomes its own pool, shown as a Seating zone card. Its name and capacity come from the plan, so change them with Edit plan. You can still add more ticket types (such as a concession price) to a seated pool here.
Customers buying seated tickets choose seats on the map, or use Best available. See Seating designer.
