Transferring or gifting a ticket
Send a ShowTix ticket to someone else by email. The old QR code stops working, and any resale price is capped at face value plus 10%.

Can't make it, or bought a ticket for someone else? Transfer it. Enter their email and we send them their own ticket with a fresh QR code. Your copy stops working the moment you transfer it.
Transfers happen one ticket at a time, and you can transfer a ticket until it has been scanned at the door.
From your order page#
Open your order
Use View your tickets in your confirmation email, or find the order in My Tickets and select View full order.
Pick the ticket
Select the ticket's thumbnail, then select Transfer / Gift.
Enter the recipient
Fill in Recipient email and, if you like, Recipient name (optional).
Add a resale price (optional)
Leave Resale price blank to gift it free. If they're paying you for it, enter the amount — see Resale price cap.
Send it
Select Transfer ticket. You'll see "Ticket sent to …".
From a single ticket's page#
Each ticket's own page (/ticket/…) has Transfer to a friend. Select it, enter Recipient email and optionally their name, then select Send ticket. This route is for free gifts — to record a resale price, use the order page.
What happens next#
The recipient gets an email, "You've been sent a ticket to [event]", with a View your ticket link to their new ticket.
Their ticket gets a brand-new QR code. Your QR code, PDF, Apple Wallet pass and ticket link all stop working — "Any earlier copy of this ticket has been cancelled, so only yours will scan at the door."
On your order page, that ticket shows "You transferred this ticket. Your copy is no longer valid."
The recipient can transfer it on again from their ticket page.
Transfers can't be undone
Double-check the email before you select Transfer ticket. Once sent, only the recipient's copy works. If you send it to the wrong address, ask that person to transfer it back.
Resale price cap#
ShowTix blocks scalping. If you enter a resale price, it can be at most the ticket's face value plus 10%. The transfer form shows the face value and the maximum, for example "Max $71.50 — ShowTix blocks scalping (face value + 10%)."
The recipient's email shows the face value and what they paid you, so they can see they weren't overcharged.
ShowTix doesn't handle the money
The resale price is only recorded on the transfer. ShowTix doesn't collect payment from the recipient or pay you — sort that out between yourselves.
Complimentary and free tickets can be gifted, but not resold for a price.
When you can't transfer#
| Situation | Why |
|---|---|
| The ticket has been scanned | It's been used, so there's nothing to transfer |
| The ticket was refunded | It's no longer valid |
| You enter your own email | A ticket can't be transferred to the address that already holds it |
| The email isn't valid | Check for typos |
Transfers and refunds#
A refund request covers the whole order. If you've transferred a ticket and later ask for a refund, the host decides what to do — talk to them first. See Refunds.
