Accessibility

Finding wheelchair-accessible and companion seats on ShowTix seat maps, using the site with a keyboard or screen reader, and who to ask about venue access.

For customersLast updated

On this page

On events with a seating map, the host can mark wheelchair-accessible and companion seats, and you can see them on the map before you buy. For anything else about getting into and around a venue, contact the venue or the host — ShowTix sells the tickets, but doesn't run the venue.

Accessible seats on a seat map#

When a host has marked them:

  • Wheelchair-accessible spaces show a ♿ symbol on the map. Hover over or tap one to see Wheelchair accessible.

  • Companion seats — seats beside an accessible space for a carer or friend — show Companion seat when you hover over or tap them.

Pick them the same way as any other seat. See Choosing seats.

Not every venue plan has these marked. If you can't see any, or you need a specific arrangement, contact the host before you buy.

Companion Card and carer tickets

ShowTix doesn't have a built-in Companion Card or carer-ticket option. Some hosts offer one as a separate ticket type or a promo code — check the event's ticket list, or ask the host.

Venue access information#

The event page shows what the host and venue have provided: the venue address with Get directions, doors and start times, and the venue's phone number and website when available. Use those to ask about step-free entry, lifts, accessible toilets, hearing loops, seating for assistance animals, or anything else you need.

ShowTix doesn't hold its own accessibility details for venues.

Using the site#

The ShowTix site is built to work with a keyboard and screen readers:

  • A Skip to content link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.

  • On seated events, Find best seats lets you choose a number of seats and have them picked for you, so you don't need to use the map. See Find best seats.

  • Quantity buttons, map controls and dialogs have screen-reader labels, and dialogs can be closed with Escape.

  • If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's animations are turned down.

  • You can show your ticket on your phone, print it, or add it to Apple Wallet — whichever is easiest at the door. See Ticket PDF and Apple Wallet.

Getting help#

If something on the site doesn't work with your assistive technology, or you need help buying tickets, contact support. Tell us the event and what you need, and we'll help you complete your booking or put you in touch with the host.
