Changing your email

Change the email on your ShowTix account under Settings → Security. We confirm the new address with a code and let your old address know.

For everyoneLast updated

On this page

Sign in, open Settings → Security, enter your new address under Email address and select Send code. Enter the 6-digit code we send to the new address, and the change is done. Your old address gets an email letting you know.

Step by step#

  1. Open Security settings

Sign in and go to Settings in the side menu, then Security (or go straight to /settings?section=security).

  2. Enter the new address

Under Email address, type it into New email and select Send code.

  3. Confirm it's yours

We email a 6-digit code to the new address. Enter it in the boxes on the same screen. You'll see "Your email is now …".

If the code doesn't arrive, check spam, then select Resend code once the countdown ends. Typed the wrong address? Select Use a different email to start again.

What changes#

  • Signing in. Codes and sign-in links now go to the new address. See Signing in.

  • Emails from ShowTix. Future emails go to the new address.

  • Your old address. We let it know the email was changed.

What doesn't change#

Tickets are linked to the email they were bought with, not to your account. After you change your email:

  • orders you placed with your old address won't appear in My Tickets while you're signed in. Look them up with a code sent to the old address — select Used a different email? on My Tickets.

  • existing tickets, PDFs and order links keep working as normal.

  • confirmation emails, reminders and updates for those existing orders still go to the email entered at checkout.

To move a ticket to a different email, transfer it — see Transferring tickets.

Fixing the email on an order#

If you made a typo in your email at checkout, you can't edit it yourself. Contact support with your name, the event, the time you bought, and the correct address.

If you started an email change from an older version of ShowTix, the email may contain a Confirm new email link. It still works if it hasn't expired. If it has, you'll see "That email-change link has expired. Change your email below instead." — just use the steps above.

No access to your old inbox?#

You need to be signed in to change your email, and signing in needs a code sent to your current address. If you can't get into that inbox any more, contact support.
