Internal
This page is for ShowTix platform admins only. These screens are not visible to hosts.
ShowTix can discover events listed on other ticketing sites and show them in a More events section on the public What's On page (/shows, below the ShowTix events). The old /discover page now redirects to What's On. Nothing discovered goes public on its own: every event lands in Platform Admin → Ingested Events (/admin/ingested-events) as pending, and only an admin approving it makes it visible.
Facts and links only#
Ingested events carry facts — title, venue, suburb and state, date and time, and price range — plus links back to the source. ShowTix never copies the source's description or re-hosts its images.
Under More events, each approved event is credited to its source (for example Via Humanitix), and its card opens the source's own ticket page. There's no ShowTix checkout, fees or payout for these events. Ingested events are kept separate from ShowTix-hosted events: they are never mixed into the ShowTix results, never shown in the iOS/Android apps, and only appear on the first page of What's On when the customer isn't searching by name or price (up to six, soonest first, following the city and date filters).
Where events come from#
The only source today is Humanitix.
Ingest is controlled by a server setting and is off by default in production. With it off, nothing is fetched and the queue only fills if engineering runs an import by hand.
When it's switched on, a bounded discovery run happens three times a day (00:15, 08:15 and 16:15 Sydney time), walking a small number of listing pages and capping how many events it picks up per run.
Switching ingest on or off, or changing which listing pages are searched, is an engineering change — there's no control for it in the admin area.
If the same event is picked up again with identical details, nothing changes. If its details changed at the source, the facts are updated but its review decision is kept — an approved event stays approved and a rejected one stays rejected.
Reviewing the queue#
The page lists pending events, most recently discovered first:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Event | Title, with venue, suburb and state underneath |
| Source | The source name, linking to the event on the source site |
| Starts | Date and time |
| Price band | Lowest to highest price, or — |
| Tickets | Source link to the source's ticket page |
| Review | Approve and Reject |
When there's nothing to review you'll see "No events awaiting review".
Approve#
Click Approve. The event leaves the queue straight away and appears under More events on What's On while it is still upcoming. There's no confirmation step.
Reject#
Click Reject. The event leaves the queue and never appears publicly. There's no confirmation step and no email — ingested events have no ShowTix host to notify.
Open the Source link before approving. Check the event is real, upcoming and correctly dated, and that it isn't already listed on ShowTix by its host.
Not available yet#
Undoing a decision — there's no list of approved or rejected ingested events, so an approval or rejection can't be reversed from the admin area
Duplicate warnings — the queue doesn't flag events that match another ingested event or an event already hosted on ShowTix
