Internal

This page is for ShowTix platform admins only. These screens are not visible to hosts.

The Platform Admin area at /admin is where ShowTix staff see every event, organisation, user and payout across the whole platform, and handle the review queues. Only accounts flagged as platform admins can open it.

Who is a platform admin#

A platform admin is a user account with the platform_admin flag switched on. It is separate from an organisation role — being an owner or admin of an organisation does not give access to /admin.

  • The flag can't be granted or removed from the admin screens. There's no Make admin control on the Users tab — it's set directly on the account by the engineering team. Granting admin from the UI is not available yet.

  • On the Users tab, platform admins show a shield icon next to their name.

  • Everything under /api/v1/admin/* checks the same flag. Anyone else gets a 403 with "Platform admin access required".

Getting to /admin#

  • Desktop: the sidebar shows Platform Admin at the bottom, below a divider, for platform admins only.

  • Mobile: open More — Platform Admin is the last item.

  • Or go straight to /admin.

If a signed-in account without the flag opens any /admin URL, it's quietly sent to /dashboard.

The tabs#

Every admin page has the header Platform Admin ("Reporting and payouts across all organisations") and this row of tabs:

TabURLWhat it's for

Overview tab#

The landing page at /admin shows:

  • A stat strip: Organisations, Users, Events, Tickets sold, Gross revenue (all time) and Platform fees.

  • Events by status: the five most common event statuses with a count each. Click one to open the Events tab filtered to that status.

  • Sales — last 30 days: daily tickets and revenue.

  • Needs payout: shown only when something is waiting — up to five finished events with net owed to the host, the organisation and how many days ago it ended. Manage payouts opens the Payouts tab.

Events tab#

/admin/events lists every event on the platform, newest start date first — platform admins see all events, not just their own.

  • Columns: Event, Date, Organisation, Status, Tickets, Gross, Fees, Net to host.

  • Search with Search events... (matches the event title), and filter by Status, Organisation (All organisations or one org) and Event date. Clear filters resets them.

  • Click a row to open /admin/events/<id>: Tickets sold, Gross revenue, Platform fees and Net to host, a Daily ticket sales chart, the net owed to the host after fees, and a Payout schedule link. All events takes you back.

The admin event pages are read-only. To change an event, the host edits it in their own event console.

The Status dropdown on the Events tab lists labels such as On Sale and Scheduled that don't match the statuses events actually carry, so most of them return no results. To filter by status, use the status tiles on the Overview tab instead — they link with the real values.
