Performer invitations — accept or decline a booking
For performers. How to accept, decline or hold a booking from the invitation email, with no account or password.
For performersLast updated
On this page
If someone has booked you through ShowTix, you'll get an email titled Performance invitation. Tap Accept booking or Decline. That's it — you don't need an account, a password or an app.
What's in the invitation#
The email comes from ShowTix on behalf of the organiser. It shows:
the event name, date and time, and the venue and address
Performance time — your own slot, if it's different from the event's times
Doors, if the organiser set them
Your fee
the organiser's name, and who else is booked (Also on the bill)
any notes from the organiser
Replying to the email goes straight to the organiser.
Hold requests#
If the organiser has only pencilled the date in, you'll get a Hold request ("Can you hold Sat 14 Nov?") with a Hold the date button. It isn't confirmed yet — holding just tells them you're free. If they later confirm, you'll get an email saying the hold is now a confirmed booking.
Accept a booking#
Open the link
Tap Accept booking (or Hold the date) in the email. Your invitation opens on ShowTix: "You're invited to perform", with your fee, date, time and venue.
Confirm
Tap Accept the booking. You'll see You're in — see you there! and the organiser is told straight away.
Within a few minutes you'll get a You're confirmed email with a calendar file (.ics) attached. Open it to add the performance to your calendar, or use Add to Google Calendar. The calendar entry reminds you 2 hours before it starts. After that, ShowTix sends a reminder a week out and a run sheet the day before — see Reminder cadence.
Decline a booking#
Tap Decline in the email. (On the invitation page, tap Can't make it? Decline.)
Optionally add a note under Let them know why — for example, "Already booked that night".
Tap Decline the booking. You'll see You've let them know you can't make it.
The organiser gets an email with your note so they can book someone else. Tap Back if you change your mind before sending.
Changed your mind?#
Each invitation link works once. After you accept or decline, every link for that booking — the original invitation and any reminders — stops working and shows This invitation link isn't active. To change your answer, reply to any of the emails or contact the organiser directly.
Something's not working#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| This invitation link isn't active | You've already replied, the booking changed, or the link was cut off. Ask the organiser to send a fresh invite. |
| Couldn't load your invitation | Try again in a moment. If it keeps happening, contact support@showtix.com.au. |
| The invitation never arrived | Check your spam folder for mail from ShowTix, then check the organiser has your right email address. |
Stop reminder emails#
Every reminder has an Unsubscribe from reminders link at the bottom. It turns off nudges, final calls, the week-out reminder, the day-before run sheet and thank-you notes. You'll still get invitations, confirmations, change notices and cancellations, because those are about bookings you've made. You can switch reminders back on from the same page. See Notifications and unsubscribing.
