Contacts (/contacts) is your client book for gigs. A contact is someone you quote and invoice — the client on a booking, or the Client / billing contact on a gig. Contacts are linked to Xero, so the people you invoice from ShowTix are the same people in your accounts.
Connect Xero first#
New contacts are created in Xero first, then saved in ShowTix. You need Xero connected before you can add a contact. Without it, you'll see Error creating contact in Xero and nothing is saved.
To connect: go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect Xero. Xero's sign-in opens in the classic app and brings you back to settings when you're done. Once connected, the card shows Connected and your Xero organisation.
Add a contact#
Go to Contacts and click New contact.
Enter a Name (required), plus Email and Phone if you have them.
Click Create contact.
The contact is saved as a Customer and linked to the new Xero contact. You can also add a contact while logging an enquiry — see Booking Enquiries.
View and edit a contact#
Click any contact in the list to open their details. Fields save as you edit them:
Name, First name, Last name
Email, Phone, Mobile
Website, Address
Company and Type (read-only)
Contacts linked to Xero show a link icon in the list and a Xero badge on their details. Editing a contact in ShowTix doesn't change it in Xero.
Search#
Use Search contacts… at the top of the list. It matches names, email addresses and phone numbers.
Delete a contact#
Open the contact, click Delete, then confirm with Delete again. The contact is permanently removed from ShowTix. The linked Xero contact isn't affected — remove it in Xero if you need to.
Deleting a contact doesn't delete their bookings, quotes or gigs.
Use a contact on a gig#
On a gig, set Client / billing contact to the person or business you'll invoice. You need a billing contact before you can raise deposit or balance invoices, or finalise. See Finalising and invoices.
Contacts needs a host account. If you see Contacts needs a host account, finish setting up as a host first — see Becoming a host.
